Browns lineman Steinbach buys in Westlake

Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Eric Steinbach bought a five-bedroom, four-bath at 2828 Waterfall Way in Westlake for $1.495 million from Ronald J Puzzitiello Fine Homes, Inc., on May 4, 2007.

Ronald J Puzzitiello Fine Homes paid $165,000 for the property in Feb. 2006. The 4,372-square-foot home was built in 2006.

Steinbach, 28, is now in his second season on the line for the Browns and sixth overall in the league. Picked up as an unrestricted free agent from the rival Cincinnati Bengals before the 2007 season, Steinbach played all 16 games last season for the Browns after playing in all but one game over his first four seasons with the Bengals.

Steinbach signed a seven-year, $49.5 million contract with the Browns in Aug. 2007, making him one of the highest paid offensive linemen in the NFL.

Originally drafted 33rd overall in the 2003 NFL Draft out of the University of Iowa, Steinbach is a two-time Pro Bowl alternate selection. He was named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year during his senior year with the Hawkeyes and helped Iowa post an 11-2 record and a berth in the Orange Bowl. He is originally from the far southwest Chicago suburb of New Lenox, Ill.

There have been 108 sales in Westlake so far in 2008. The median sales price is $220,000.
