Cleveland Browns president buys in Bratenahl

Michael George Holmgren and Kathy Holmgren bought a two-bedroom, two-bath home at 17 Shoreby Dr. in Bratenahl from Robert M. Serpentini, Jr., and Paul A. Serpentini for $653,000 on Feb. 12.

The Serpentinis paid $535,000 for the property in Oct. 2008. The 3,005-square-foot home was built in 1991 in the North of Lake Shore Blvd. neighborhood.

Holmgren is president of the Cleveland Browns. He was appointed to the position in Dec. 2009.

He most recently was an analyst for NBC's coverage of Super Bowl XLIII. Prior to that, he coached the National Football League's San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. He also coached high school and college football at Lincoln High School, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, Oak Grove High School and San Francisco State University.

He played college football at the University of Southern California, where he obtained his bachelor of science degree. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the eighth round of the 1970 NFL Draft.

Mrs. Holmgren is a former nurse and social worker. She on the boards of the Northwest Medical Team and the Salvation Army.

She received a degree in nursing from North Park University and a master's degree in oncology nursing at Brigham Young University.

Paul Serpentini is president of Serpentini Chevrolet, a car dealership in Tallmadge.

He received an M.B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace College.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 39 home sales in Bratenahl during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $137,500.
